Cloud, Web & Mobile — Concept Map (MOC)

Map of content for Cloud, Web & Mobile (Univ. Duisburg-Essen, Torben Weis), active in exam period 2026-winter. Course page: cloud-web-mobile · Exam prep: 2026-winter-cloud-web-mobile.

Pages are currently one per lecture (deliberate: the lecture blocks are dense and self-contained). Split a page once a single section is quizzed on repeatedly and needs its own mastery state.

Reading order

L1 Historie/Motivation → terminology → cloud-history-and-terminology
L2 Rechenzentren → IaaS → data-centers-and-iaas
L3 Virtualisierung → Sandboxing → virtualization-and-sandboxing
L4+ not yet ingested

Known gaps

  • Virtualisierung is now covered by L3 (virtualization-and-sandboxing) — cross-link it from L1/L2’s “virtuelle Server-Instanzen” claims when next linting.
  • Nested paging / EPT (Intel VT-x’s second page-walk level) is not in L3, which stops at shadow tables — flag if the exam expects it.
  • Lecture 3 is PARTIAL: 19 of 42 slides are figure-only, so re-running pdf2md will always look thin — the diagrams live in the wiki, not in raw/.
  • Green IT / energy numbers are captured inside L1, but no dedicated page; revisit if the exam asks for calculations.
  • REST vs SOAP is only named in L2 — thin coverage for a term that exams like to contrast.
  • Data protection / GDPR implications of geo-distributed data centers (named in L2) deserve their own page once the course covers legal aspects.
  • No quiz page yet for this course → wiki/quizzes/.

Maintenance

Add a row per new lecture ingest; set mastery after each quiz or mock. If a row grows beyond ~15 concepts, split by lecture.
